Background to project:

The Food Standards Agency is a UK-wide body � a non-ministerial Government department � operating at arm�s length from Ministers and governed by a Board appointed to act in the public interest.

Blog by FSA Chief Scientist Andrew Wadge to show the importance of good science and how FSA use it to inform FSA policies and advice.


Purpose of project:

To let public know what FSA are engaged in, what the emerging issues are, and how FSA propose to handle them.

Blog will supplement open board meetings, media interviews, and FSA websites, to demonstrate FSA core values. These are:

putting consumers first

being an independent voice

being open and transparent about what FSA do


Project activities:

Public feedback is important, so the public are invited to submit any thoughts, comments or questions about FSA postings.
