Background to project:The Tenant Services Authority (TSA) is replacing the Housing Corporation as the new social housing regulator. As part of this process the TSA is establishing new regulatory standards for the sector.. Purpose of project:The National Conversation seeks to involve all social housing stakeholders in the construction of the TSA?s new regulatory framework. This includes consulting tenants, shared-owners, landlords and other key stakeholders.. Project activities:The National Conversation is a three stage process that began in January 2009 with a consultation of the key stakeholders via a variety of different methods. Initially the TSA sought to identify what stakeholders perceived to be the key issues for any regulation of the social housing sector.. Current and prospective tenants were engaged through face-to-face household surveys, a postal consultation and an online questionnaire. They were also encourage to attend national events, organise local discussion groups and produce a video to contribute to the conversation.
