Cabinet Office Minister Tom Watson yesterday announced the creation of the Power of Information Task Force, which will drive forward the Government 's pledge to meet rising aspirations of modern communications practice and improve engagement with citizens through social media.

This has come about as a result of the publication of the Interim Progress regarding the implementation of the recommendations in the original Power of Information review undertaken by Tom Steinberg and Ed Mayo, published in June 2007.

This is particularly interesting for the users of peoplenadparticpation.net, and it is worth reading through the original review (also available in the participation library) as well as the current thinking from Central Government in the Interim Report.

And as another reminder, we have our User Survey up and running for feedback from yourselves on what you think of peopleandparticipation.net. We would really appreciate it if you could spend a couple of minutes to let us know your thoughts.
