Are you inspired by public engagement? Do you think ordinary people should have more of a say on issues to do with science and technology? Do you ever wish you would get the chance to judge an award?
Now is your chance. Until the 11th of February you can vote for the project you think should get the 'People's choice award' in public engagement on science and technology issues.
What is the 'People's choice award'?
The 'People's choice award' is jointly awarded by Sciencewise
and Involve
. It will honour the best project to involve ordinary people in science and technology issues over the recent years. And who gets the award is decided by you, members of the public and those who actually tmanage public engagement projects, rather than a small group of experts.
Winners of the award will receive a paid trip to the London award ceremony taking place on 18 February 2009 to receive the first 'People's choice award' trophy. The winning project will be widely publicised as a case study of good practice. We'd encourage you to influence who gets that honour.
How does the voting work?
To take part simply visit the case studies listed below and rate each one based on how deserving you think they are of the award. On each participating case study page you can award the project a rating from one to five stars (with five being the best.
Voting will close on the 11th of February and the winning project will be the one which receives the highest aggregated score at that time.
